Hi, I'm Sam Proctor-Crook and thank you for taking an interest in my artwork. I'm not a professional artist by any means and I'm entirely self taught - in fact I think you could happily say that I am still very much learning! I paint because I love it and I love sharing my passion with those around me.

I live in Staffordshire, UK and have always loved drawing and painting - especially seascapes, trees and landscapes. I am surrounded by wonderful countryside which is an endless inspiration, as is the wonderful coastline of Dorset that we regularly visit. I thrive on trying different techniques and experimenting with a range of media and tools. I mainly work with oils and acrylics but have been known to dabble with watercolours now and then.

 

The portfolio on my website shows some of the artwork I have produced since January 2018. The majority of the works are oil. I really enjoy painting with oils as it gives you so much freedom with the paint and allows wonderful blending of colour. My main aim is to have fun with my paintings and to enjoy the creative process. I love being inspired by the landscapes around me, but also love just starting a painting and seeing where it takes me - making it up as I go along and embracing the happy accidents (as the late, great Bob Ross would say).

 

It's a wonderful feeling when someone sees one of my paintings and feels instantly drawn into the scene and wishes that they were there. I am happy to accept commissions so please get in touch. I have completed a number of commissions for both landscapes, seascapes and abstract pieces.
